Twenty-Fifth day — Activating the Vagus Nerve by Dr. Navaz Habib

Image
Today the prickling sensation was stronger I was getting more cautious, but it did not help at all. I did about 3,000 steps I stopped and wind down with the BaDuanJin. Now the prickling sensation came like a spark without any form of stimulation. Even when I was sitting still or standing it could erratically spark. For sure somewhere the throat or tongue was overstretched. Thinking back two years ago after I had the first incident of the syncope that caused the head trauma resulting in the brain hemorrhage, I stayed at home for a month not talking to anyone nor doing much social media. I was diligently writing Chinese calligraphy in the morning, afternoon I watched and learned from YouTube, about Chinese calligraphy. In the late afternoon, I started exercising and slowly increased the number of steps and eventually on the last week of the month could complete 10,000 steps. In that month, I had cleared the haemorrhage and there was no incident of syncope. The distinct differences this t...

Twenty-Fourth Day - My record went strange

Image
We reached Bishan Garden at about 7am. We had a nice walk and made 5 rounds along the lake. I did 3500 steps and decided to stop as I was experiencing prickling sensation more often on the tongue. The XOSS did not work today. I tried quitting the program and restarting but it still did not work. I could only rely on the ROCK smart watch. My heart rate was between 80-95 bpm.  Finally today, I sat down to transfer data and apps from my old mobile to the new one, it was postponed for many weeks since I bought it about a month ago. Astonishingly the MI fit I was using for the smart weighing machine gave me a big shock. With the old mobile I was scoring 74 and this morning I scored 80, however after transferring the data to the new mobile the score change from 80 to 63, so strange. I winder how could this happened. The profile is exactly the same. So where went wrong? I measure again after dinner, it is 60.5 kg and a health score of 63. I had dropped from average of 74 to 63, unbelievab...

Twenty-Third day — reading cursive writing

Image
We went out for morning exercise at 7am. I walked at a slower pace, did about 3500 steps, then wind down with BaDuanJin. There were still some prickling at the tongue while I was walking. Q We saw the Flamed Back Woodpecker, hopping and scanning the bark of the tree trunk. Beautifully lighted in the golden light. She photographed, while I continued my walk. There were many kind park users who love to collect the crust of bread and spread them on selected grass patch, disregarding the no-feeding sign or the regulation. Previously I ever saw a beautiful yellow Oriole choked on the piece of bread. The Myna and the pigeon, mostly the black and grey bird know how to break it down before swallowing them. A proliferation of Myna and Pigeon can impact on the population of other birds population that are necessary for an ecologically balanced nature. Beauty is perhaps the only possible measure of that balance.  I always believe in sharing food with birds or animals but not the wrong kind of...

Twenty-second day -- Swiss Brown mushroom and egg, sliced bread and Potatoes Mushroom soup

Image
It was 6:16am. The vibrating and beeping watch woke me up. I stretched and twisted about to warm up before stepping into the bathroom. I tested my blood pressure, it read 106/64 (systolic/diastolic) and the pulse rate was 74 bpm. I noticed the hospital measured me frequently, every three hours in the night and after my breakfast. So I ordered one online before I was discharged. I bought the Sinocare from Lazada. It would give me a figure slightly lower than that measured in the hospital. The RoHs watch also measured my blood pressure but the figures were at least 20 higher, so I would not take it seriously. At eleven I measured again, it was 93/60 and pulse rate 75.  I did about 3500 steps with a slow pace and wearing the XOSS, checking often the heart rate with the mobile apps Nike Run Club. It hovered around 80-95 bpm. I ended the exercise with BaDuanJin. The stretching was good and I could feel the warmth streaming from my arms and legs.  I realized that the pill cause some...

Twenty-first Day — Reducing walking steps

Image
Since I was not feeling good yesterday evening I stayed indoor to do some light walking. I did about 2,000 steps and then wind down with BaDuanJin. It took about 45 minutes. In all, I tried to maintain the heart rate below 90 bpm. I was experiencing less prickling.  I decided to make an excel to record my situation with temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate. I used the oximeter and the XOSS for heart rate during exercise.  Later afternoon, at about 4:30pm. I felt very tired and was trying to sleep but had a strange feeling of needing more energy to breathe, as if the chest and the stomach were tightening. I tried to rest but it was difficult. I stayed in bed for an hour, was not really sleeping but drifting along, woke up an hour later.  It was dinner time, so I started cooking. Although I was slightly light and not so alert, moving around, being occupied with cooking helped to distract from the discomfort. Today, as usual, I cooked porridge with pumpkin; it was eas...

Twentieth day — light rain in the morning

Image
I woke up late today, at about 7am. I did some typing and it started to rain. So we took it slow today. We went to Bishan Park at 8am. The rain had stopped and the clouds were clearing. When we reached the park the sun came out in full. There were less people.  Everyday I would wore the chest belt in the car and position the XOSS gadget in the middle of the chess. It gains two beeps, indicating that it was paired with the mobile app, Nike Run Club. I noticed that the heart rate was reflected but the rest of the function remained as zero. There was no updates for pace, cadence, distance, and no voice report when I hit a kilometer. Kinda strange. Perhaps I was having conflict with the new program DaFit for the smart watch, which connected in a breeze. I opened the Google Fit too to compare the readings of different applications, maybe the processors cannot cope. I was also listening to the jogging music too.  The prickling sensations were more pronounced after about 3,000 steps....

Nineteenth Day — In the park with wife

Image
My temperature for last evening was 37.2 and this mornign it was 36.2, a difference of 1 degree. I tested several days, the result were the same, a difference of a degree celsius. I was not staying air conditioned room unlike the hospital so that might be one of the factor. The body was perhaps colder in the early morning and warmed up through the day.  We were at the Bishan Park by about 7:10am. I started to walk around the lake while my wife did two rounds and then continue photographing the birds. Again it was a good sun rise with warm and glory. I used her camera and did a few shots of the Bishan River, or some also called it the Kallang River. I tried to get the body to be accustom to jogging by walking for the whole circuit except for about 50 meters I would jog. I monitored the heart rate and saw that I never went higher that 130 Bpm. The shoes were giving blister above the big toe. It was going well, for about 4,000 steps, until I felt that there were some pricking at the t...

Eighteenth day — Bishan Park

Image
Great sunlight. The birds were chirping and pruning their feathers. At the far end, a man was practicing some martial art in the middle of the circular platform.  I woke up at about 5:50am, stretched on the bed before washing up. We hope to get up early so that I could complete the exercise in an hour, thereafter do some grocery shopping. We left the house at about 7am.  The morning sun was a shine of yellow and warm. It was great to see the birds, squirrels and people going about their activities. There were a lot of Mynas. We saw some Oriole. She was very excited to photograph them, perhaps because she kept hearing them at out window.  My wife suggested that we should not go to the park connector as it smell bad yesterday with petrol and chemicals. I remembered seeing a tractor, Perhaps it was the construction work and the oil from the machinery.  It was a good choice. Bishan Park was my favorite garden for many months. I used to walk here and photographs the birds...

Seventeenth day - - light jogging at the park connector

Image
Finally I can jog out door. As I don't really feel the tiredness, possibly due to the Lirica, I bought the XOSS from Lazada to monitor my heart beat, wore the smart watch to double check when needed. Setting up the XOSS to work was quite a hassle. It is not a digital friendly device. After 10 minutes then I got it registering. I had tested last night, it was working. Not very comfortable to wear. Some prixkiness along the belt. Although it was touted as one of the easiest to use. Morning exercise I did about 15 min of slow jog and I noticed the heart rate went close to 140. Also the feeling was getting strange so I slowdown and stopped. The feedback from the body was not so forth coming. I had to use the watch and XOSS to monitor. I did sow walk to wind down. The XOSS was not giving me good feedback after I had rested for more than 10 minutes it still showed the heart rate alternative between 103 and 104. I check with my watch, it read 93. I did a slow walk for 100 meters and the...

Sixteenth day -- Exercise as usual, Scrutinising the Bill.

Image
Woke up early, at about 5am, did not see the nurse who would come to take my blood pressure, temperature, and  oxygen in the blood. So, disturbed by my wife who sent me photographs to complain about my books, my cameras equipment, drawing, and paintings, tools, servers, and digital storage, which are all needed to create works of art. This nonsense has been recurringly haunting me. My wife expects one to create with the mouth and not with tools. Disgusting!!! I have to find a way to create bigger and more exciting works. There is always a way. That is the real struggle with people beside me limiting my potential.  When I was little, parents will always say reading books and newspapers are good, one becomes a better and wiser person. I could not afford books when I was growing up, so the libraries were the places I visited often. The other way was to read next to read discretely in the books before alarming and annoying the shop attendants. Those were the days. When I made good...

Fifteenth day — Preparing to be discharged tomorrow

Image
The screw points had dry up and there were no discharge at the forehead which I could see. Behind the skull the two points still have a little sore, like the healing bruise kind. I had little constipation while clearing the bowels. After washing up, I quickly start the exercise. Morning Exercise I started the exercise at about 7:45pm. I did about 4,000 steps today, measured by the Huawei mobile instead of the watch. The watch went dead and needed to be charged. When I did about 2000 steps, Dr Rhamani came to check on me. He was please with my progress and discipline in my exercise routine. He did a quick check, request the nurse to help remove my plasters at all the screw points, so that I could get a good bath and go home tomorrow. He explained about the slowing down of the medicine over a period and he would be seeing me perhaps in two weeks time.  I continued my exercise. Dr. David Choy passed by and I showed him two thumbs up. Everything is fine.  I ended the exercise with...

Fourteenth Day — leaking blood from the screw wound.

Image
I had quite a good sleep last nigh, although I could not sleep facing up with both hands held at my DanTian (丹田) as the two screwed holes behind my skull were still swollen and discharging blood and transparent fluid. So I slept crunching to the side, changing position every now and then. Yap the nurses diligently came for my blood pressure at 2pm and 5pm.  Morning Exercise I woke up at seven, cleaned up, tried to clear the bowel but nothing excreted. Started to walk at seven-thirty. I decided to stop at 2,000 steps and took it slow. The feeling was a little strange, like my senses were less sharp and slightly less aware toward the end of the walking exercise.  I felt better after doing the BaDuanJin. It stretches the muscle, veins and move the Qi. I could feel the warm stretching all over the arms and the torso. My heart beat also hit above 110 bpm after I did the 5 and 6 series.  Self Portrait in fountain pen I rested and stood to draw my portrait referencing from the p...

Thirteenth Day - The GAMA Treatment

Image
The GAMA Helmet was one torturing device, the one 007 wear  was more streamlined. This one is crude and detrimental. Four screws, two in front and two behind.  Morning Preparation At six I was woken up by the iPad alarm I set last night. It was dark and I did a few minute stretching on the bed before I pressed the alarm for the nurse. It was all quiet. Amazing. I was quiet please that I had a good night sleep last night. I washed up and cleared my bowel. They served me a simple piece of cake and the Milo. The milo was very sweet. I had breakfast and took my medicine, Lirica 25mg.  I packed up my belongings as I would be shifting to a single room for quarantine after I return from Mount Elizabeth Novena. The room was 1043, with a window view. As I was all ready by about seven, and I had time. I started to do some light walking. I accomplished 2,000 steps and the BADuanJin routine.  The ambulance was not here yet at 7:40am so I decided to make the move to the new room....

Twelfth Day - Preparing for the GAMA treatment tomorrow

Image
I was awaken many times during the sleep. I need uninterrupted sleep. Twice for blood pressure check, 2pm and 5pm. Then the third time at 6pm to go for the PCR test. Nerve raking test, a plastic instrument was shove deep into both my nostrils, first on the left then on the right. After that painful sting, I was rather stone and in agony. I had three PCR test done on me, on admission, than another on the eighth day and now another one. The nurse need skill to get it done right. My first was almost painless, obviously she knows how to get it done right. The last one, I supposed, she was new at it.  Exercise Laid on the bed trying to catch more sleep my the remnant pain up the nostrils kept me awake. Did some relaxing of the eyes, ears, nostrils and face, hoping that I could get some micro-sleep. Could sleep much and got up to exercise. It was already 7:30pm.  Took three sips of water and started on my exercise routine — walk then BaDuanJin. I started really slow and saw my...
