Thirty-fifth day -- Remembering Lijiang
| Mi Smart Scale which had been serving me well since a few years ago. I was first warn of something going wrong when my body score dropped from 70+ to 50+. |
I was at a few thousand kilometre above the sea, listening to soothing music and watching the cloud below me, sipping a cup of freshly brew coffee, yes coffee, above the cloud, not on the plane but 2,400 metre above the sea level in the city of Lijiang. A familiar song kept playing in my mind. It was in 2017 I last visited this place with my son. I was playing the series of hundreds of songs I bought when my wife and me came to ride horses along the mountain road. Now, I could only imagine, COVID and this neuralgia had stopped all traveling. Imagining is good enough. As they said, 'been there done that'.
Music
Last night I started to play the songs that I bought from Lijiang before I slept. Reading from the result from the watch, my sleep was worst last night scoring at 62 and deep sleep was non-existence. I like those songs and the lyrics were simple to understand and the malady was simple to follow. It brought me many memories and visual stimulations, perhaps it was good for staying chill.
Exercise
Never knew that the nerve constant prickling could be the reason that I had to slow down the exercise. I was winding down with the BaDuanJin series 7 that this occur. I quickly stopped and sat down to get a small sip of mild saltwater. I felt better and continued to complete the wind down. While I was in the army I could easily ran 2.4 km for under 9:30 minutes, this pace was not even tiring at all and I was not short of breath nor having muscle ache, it was the nerve calling out to me. Slow down. I just had to heel the signal otherwise situation could get worst.
I did had some prickling when I reached 2000 steps, but it was a very mild one. I was not sure how accurate was the data but I would use them as comparison to other days. At least I would know if I was pacing faster today or the day before. I could also see my heart rate going faster compared to yesterday, hovering an average of 119 bpm and highest crossed the 130 bpm mark which I had set to alarm me.
I love the way technology could help us to track our progress. The apps even encouraged me with badges when I crossed certain milestones. They created many types of milestones, almost game like. Automated and fair to anyone, so one can be proud of what he or she can achieve.
Weighing Machine
The Smart Scale Weighing Machine and the application Mi Fit was giving me a score of 63 for many days until I started to up the pace to jogging and covering about 3 km. Yesterday and this morning, my body score went up to 68. I also notice that the water content in the body had less to do with how much water I had drank. I noticed that the more exercise I did the better was the water content in my body even if I just woke up in the morning before taking a drink. Mi Fit advised that my Visceral fat at 10 was not ideal and it should be reduced to 9.
As my ROSS watch app was Da Fit and it was not able to share data with the Mi Fit. I thought to be more comprehensive I should use a Mi Watch. That way I can consolidate the data into one. If they can be exported into a database application even better. That way I can study the data further. I believe soon there will be such a possibilities and the personal health expert can use those data to train or rehabilitate the patient. Of course, no amount of data can replace the knowledgeable, experienced and diligent expert. It was so convenient to order online and assessed reviews to understand which model was good for my needs. Thankfully too that all these sophisticated equipment are made affordable by the Chinese companies. We are blessed to be living in this era.
